Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Chidvilas Life mobile application (the “App”) operated by the Chidvilas community (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility & invitations
The App is a private, invite-only service. You may use it only if (a) you have received a valid invitation from an authorised community administrator, and (b) you are at least 18 years of age, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction. You may not transfer your invitation or share your account with any other person.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us at support@chidvilas.org immediately if you suspect your account has been accessed by anyone else.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Copy, redistribute, broadcast, or publicly display any content from the App outside the community.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract media files outside of the App's intended playback flow.
- Use the App to harass, defame, or harm any other member.
- Submit unlawful, defamatory, or rights-infringing content (including reflections and reactions).
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App, our servers, or other members' accounts.
- Use any automated system (bots, scrapers) to access the App.
4. Content
Our content
All audio recordings, photographs, daily teachings, and other media made available through the App (“Community Content”) are the property of the Chidvilas community or its licensors. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access Community Content within the App for your personal, non-commercial spiritual practice. All other rights are reserved.
Your content
You retain ownership of any reflections, reactions, profile photos, or other content you submit (“Your Content”). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and process it within the App for the purpose of providing the service to you and the community. You are responsible for the lawfulness of Your Content.
5. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these Terms or if continued access poses a risk to the community. You may close your account at any time by emailing support@chidvilas.org. Upon termination, your licence to access Community Content ends; we will retain or delete Your Content as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The App and Community Content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content will be retained without loss.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall we, our affiliates, or our licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages shall not exceed one hundred Indian rupees (₹100), reflecting the non-commercial nature of the service.
9. Changes to the App or these Terms
We may modify or discontinue features of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms; material changes will be communicated through the App or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
